One of the grants we made this year was presented by Shawna Wainright , Club V.P. to Michelle Mason from Seniors in Service. The funds will be designated to assist with purchasing two Meta glasses for the SCC Low Vision Support Group. “You have just given two individuals the gift of sight again and the ability to live independently”, said Michelle. The AI driven glasses will offer seniors who are either blind or have low vision due to age-related conditions, the ability to read labels, read their emails, select clothing and to comfortably manage their surroundings.
We are grateful to be able to contribute locally and one of our Club’s favorite projects is the Angel Tree gifts, where we buy new clothes for needy children in Wimauma, FL.
Many photographs and descriptions of our community service activities are in the “Photographs” tab under Committee Activities.
Through the years our Club has supported both National and Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs projects.
