Our final meeting of the club year was very festive. Two representatives of Enterprising Latinas made a presentation about their work in Wimauma and surrounding areas. We ate a delicious lunch and then selected items from the accessories exchange. Each member that donated an item received a ticket to select a new-to-them from the beautiful selection of purses, bags, scarves, jewelry and other items, limit of 3. Items not selected were donated to Enterprising Latinas.

Every year club members support the children of Wimauma by selecting angel tree requests at the November meeting.  This year we were again successful in providing gifts for all requested.  Beautifully wrapped presents were collected at the December meeting and then two wonderful volunteers delivered them that afternoon before the school holiday started.  We are grateful to be able to support these children in need.

The GFWC SCC Woman’s Club happily met at Bunkers Grill to have a luncheon outside.   Marge Hartig-Sprecht planned the terrific event for members and we had a wonderful time, talking, drinking and eating on a windy day.   Linda Raymond won the prize for Best Decorated Golf Cart and Marge won for Best Costume.  Lots of green was worn and many cheerful faces were seen.

We discussed future plans for the club including a Zoom meeting in April, food drive in May, and especially resuming meetings in the fall (fingers crossed).  Our election for officers was being held through email and a reminder was given to vote.  Thanks to Marge for planning this outing and to Bunkers for providing quick and cheerful service.

This was originally planned to be held in March 2020 at SCC FunFest, but was cancelled due to Covid 19 pandemic. We raised about $2,200 – well worth all the hours and hard work by members. Linda Raymond and Kathy Jones were Co-Chairpersons whose diligent efforts made this a big success, and Linda even kept all the items collected for this sale at her house for almost a year.
