Birthday Lunches September 2023 – August 2024

The April Birthday Lunch was held at Asian Yummy House in RIverview on the fourth. 16 member enjoyed a “yummy” lunch.


Friday, December 1st 10:00 at Camp Bayou Camp and Ybor Grille
Spent a few hours in nature at the Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center in Ruskin. The
Nature Center and the Paleo Museum will be open. We visited the Native American Village,
saw the Giantā€™s Fishing Camp cabins, strolled to the river, and took golf cart rides on the trails.
Then to the Ybor Grille for lunch.

Finn’s in Apollo Beach was the restaurant where the September birthday lunch was held on 9/7.

Jack’s Shack Ice Cream Social

August 16, 2023

26 members and guests met at Jack’s Shack in Sun City Center to eat delicious ice cream rolls and socialize. Each table competed in a Barbie Trivia Game that was announced by Shawna Wainright. She also put together this wonderful event.

For summertime fun we met at the Atrium and played various games and had ice cream sundaes. Both members and guests enjoyed the time together.

Birthday Lunches September 2022 – August 2023

Every month members’ birthdays are celebrated at local restaurants, everyone is invited – doesn’t have to be their birth month. Some of the restaurants visited this year were Latitudes in Apollo Beach, Longhorn Steakhouse, Mi Casa Mexican and Tiki Docks in Riverview, and Old Castle German and Renaissance Club in Sun City Center.

GFWC Florida State Convention May 21-22, 2022

Virginia Kimball and Sally Anne Barclay attended the convention in Orlando. They meet and socialized with statewide members throughout the convention. Virginia participated in the Graduation Ceremony for LEADS Training. Sally Anne was installed as State Director of Arts and Culture.

Birthday Lunch April 26, 2022

April birthdays were celebrated by seven ladies at Mandola’s in Riverview. Pat Barnhart was the attendee with a birthday in April. Delicious italian food was enjoyed by all.

Bingo Fundraiser April 8, 2022

What a fun-filled successful afternoon! Over 100 people played bingo, and the lucky winners received prizes of cash or gift baskets with the grand prize of a $200 Publix gift card for the final cover all spaces game. More beautiful gift baskets were raffled between bingo games.

Complimentary refreshments of brownies and cookies were baked by club members for attendees.

Floyd Curvin volunteered his services as bingo number caller. He is very experienced since he calls the numbers at SCCCA Bingo on Monday nights. We are very appreciative of him spending a few hours with us.

GFWC Florida LEADS Program February 24, 2022

Virginia Kimball, Vice President, was honored to participate in the GFWC Florida Leadership, Education, And Development Seminar (LEADS). She completed the training program and will utilize the knowledge she gained to elevate her leadership skills as Vice President this year and President next year. We look forward to her sharing what she has learned with us.

December Birthday Lunch December 28, 2021

December birthdays were celebrated by six club members at Club Renaissance.

Fall Fest October 16, 2021

The Sun City Center Community Association held Fall Fest at the Atrium and many club participated. We held a mini sports activity for fun, and participants could win prize baskets. We met new residents and were able to present the SCC Woman’s Club to them, all in a festive atmosphere.

Kicks for Kids Shoe and Sock Collection

School Supplies Collection September 2021

Virginia Kimball, Vice President, spearheaded the collection of school supplies for school children in Wimauma. A whooping total of 272 items were donated with a value of $580.00. Great job!

Reporting and Leadership Camp 07/30/2021

The GFWC Florida District 8 Reporting and Leadership Camp was attended by Sally Anne Barclay, Virginia Kimball and Deanna St. John.

February Birthday Lunch 02/25/2020

14 club members went to Latitudes in Apollo Beach to celebrate February birthday ladies. Nancy Mercer shared her birthday cake, delicious chocolate, with all of us.

January Birthday Lunch 01/29/20

Pizza was chosen by most of the attendees and it was delicious. A group of 12 went to Joey D’s Chicago Style Eatery & Pizzeria in Palmetto. We celebrated the January birthdays with yummy chocolate cake, and Marge, Patsie and Libby wore the birthday tiaras during lunch.

November & December Birthday Lunch 11/26/19

Sixteen hungry members attended the 2 Month Birthday Lunch at the Olive Garden in Brandon. This was a lunch for the November and December birthday ladies – Sharon Alvarez, November and Linda Menier, December.

GFWC Florida District 8 Reporting Workshop 11/08/19

Seven Board Members and Committee Chairpersons attended the workshop hosted by GFWC Lutz – Land O’Lakes Woman’s Club. Valuable information was provided on reporting the activities of our club.

Hi Neighbor 11/07/19

Linda Raymond, Membership Chairperson and Kathy Jones, 1st Vice President represented the GFWC Sun City Center Woman’s Club at this community event. It is an annual event at Community Hall to introduce newcomers (and long time residents) to all clubs and organizations in Sun City Center.

Tour of Officers and District 8 Annual Meeting 10/26/19

GFWC Sun City Center Woman’s Club hosted the Tour of Officers and District 8 Annual Meeting at the Eberhardt Room of the SCC CA. It was attended by 46 members of GFWC District 8 and Sharon Oliphant, GFWC FL Presidents and Shannon Bailey, GFWC FL Director of Junior Clubs. After a light breakfast, we had a full agenda of meeting topics presided over by Kay Taylor, District 8 Director. A video presentation was made by Sharon and Shannon which was very informative and entertaining. After a delicious lunch, prizes of cash, 2 baskets and wine, and all the flower arrangements were awarded.

October Birthday Lunch 10/22/19

Seventeen club members attended the October Birthday Lunch which was held at Alpha Pizza, Pasta and Prime in Apollo Beach. Three birthday ladies were present and all enjoyed the delicious Boo cake.

Lethal Luau Fundraiser 10/12/19

The Pelican Players performed the Lethal Luau Mystery and the audience participated in the play and used their detective skills to figure out whodunit. A delicious luncheon was served between acts and prizes were awarded for Opportunity Tickets and Wine was won by choosing the right murderer. Proceeds will benefit The Pelican Players Scholarship Fund and GFWC SCC Woman’s Club charities.

September Birthday Lunch 09/24/19

At Club Renaissance, two birthday ladies celebrating with the group. Another member, Linda Floyd, recuperating from knee surgery, had cake delivered to her.
