Photo Session for GFWC FL Firefighter’s Calendar Contest

A group of club members met at Hillsborough County Fire Station 28 in Sun City Center to take photos for our submission to the GFWC Florida FIrefighter’s Calendar Contest. The firefighters graciously helped us take candid shots and posed with the fire truck when their staff photographer took formal photos. They performed a drill with the ladder truck and hooked up hose to the hydrant.

Summer gatherings held by Membership Committee

June 18, 2026 Meet Martha Washington! A special presentation by Martha Washington (Denise Fleck) and historical interpreter (Eileen Eacker) was made to our group as we commemorate the 250th birthday of the United States of America. Carina Faneuf held a USA 250th Birthday Trivia Contest with a dozen difficult questions – we had to search our memory banks for these answers. Many new members attended so we had time during lunch to become acquainted with them.

Birthday Lunches – Held monthly and below are a few examples of enjoyable gatherings in 2025 – 2026

April 2026 Delicious pizza, calzones, and salad were served at Mellow Mushroom in RIverview for the birthday lunch.

September 2025; The Women’s Club celebrated the birthdays of Virginia Kimball and Joy Frisch at Finn’s Dockside in Apollo Beach.

Field Trips

On January 14, 2026, fourteen club members toured Tampa Bay Fox Channel 13 TV Station. We were treated to a private behind the scenes tour led by newscaster Jennifer Epstein who is celebrating 20 years with the station. After the tour of the newsroom, green room, weather station and production studio, we gathered for a picture outside the station. Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City served a delicious lunch to the group.
