16 local organizations received an annual grant checks from our club this year. Our fundraising efforts were very successful and the club was able to add to our list of recipients. Samaritan Services (Meals on Wheels), Beth El Mission Food Pantry, Our Lady of Guadalupe Food Pantry, C. A. R. E, Camp Bayou, Paleo Museum, Mary Petro Fund, Samaritan Services (Alzheimer’s Respite), Samaritan Services (SCC RIde), SCC Security Patrol, SCC Library, KP Library, Enterprising Latinas, Mary Martha House, Seniors in Service – Low Vision, and SCC Emergency Squad. Below are pictures of some of our members hand-delivering checks to a few organizations.

Virginia Kimball gave Bonnie Doll, C.A.H.T. Victim Services Chairperson, 64 heart pillows to be put in the Campaign Against Human Trafficking’s backpacks for survivors.

October 18, 2023

Members of the Board of Directors and Club volunteered at this community-wide event to support Moffitt Cancer Center. We worked with Sun City Center/South Shore Florida Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and donated baskets which raised over $5,000 for Closer to a Cure.

August 5, 2023

The GFWC SCC Woman’s Club participated in this community-wide drive to collect school supplies for students in our area. Virginia Kimball spearheaded the collections, keeping all the donations at her house after they were dropped off during June and July. Almost $600 in supplies were contributed! Virginia filled her SUV and delivered them to the United Methodist Church.
